Chinese officials deepen cooperation on research and development

The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong said last week that PHOTO XINHUA HONG KONG KONG Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Chinese mainland officials discussed deepening cooperation on research and development.

Sun told reporters after attending a radio program that the SAR government has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Science and Technology and talked about sharing innovation and technology resources in particular for science and technology development.

We talked about technology transfer, manpower exchange, and so on. Sun said that they wanted to strengthen the advantage of the internationalization of Hong Kong.

The coordination between the Mainland and Hong Kong will be strengthened at the top level. Sun stated that the SAR government intends to make Hong Kong an international hub for artificial intelligence and data science.

He said many times before Hong Kong aims to build a data hub, Hong Kong wants to build an international centre in several areas, including AI and data science.

We are looking at developing our data infrastructure, including the development of an AI Supercomputing CentreAI Supercomputing Centre. We hope everything will go smoothly.
