Finnair to stop in-flight sales on flights

Valtteri Halve, head of product offering at Finnair, said that on-board and pre-order shopping has become a less important service for our customers.

Halve reminded the airline almost three years ago of its decision to stop in-flight sales on its flights within the EU. The decision was intended to reduce overall weight and therefore fuel consumption of aircraft.

He said that it is time to take the next step. Food and beverage sales on flights will continue, of course. Finnair has a clearance campaign that gives customers the chance to purchase products on-board or pre-order items at discounted prices. Customers on long-haul flights and flights to the Canary Islands, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, Egypt, Iceland, Israel, Turkey and the United Kingdom are able to pre-order pre-orders on all flights with a duration of over two hours.
