Poland has signed a new contract for the supply of several hundred Spike-LR anti-tank guided missiles, Mariusz Blaszczak, the defence minister, has announced.

We are consistently strengthening the anti-tank capabilities of our army, he said. Today, we signed another contract with the Polish defence industry for the supply of several hundred Spike-LR anti-tank guided missiles in the future. The Polish army has ordered Spike-LRs with an anti-tank range of 4 km, which are part of their basic anti-tank armament. Infantry fighting vehicles can be used as portable weapons and can also be fired from them. The guided missiles are designed to attack tanks, armored vehicles, and combat helicopters. The Spike-LRs are manufactured by Mesko S.A., which is part of the state-owned Polish Armaments Group.
