Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023 concluded on a high note

New Delhi, India August 22: 'Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023 closed on a high note delivering the desired results and achieving its objective of boosting the bilateral trade between India and Vietnam.

The second edition of the mega festival, organised jointly by the Indian Embassy and Consulate General of India in Vietnam, under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and Innovations India, saw a number of MOUs being signed in 3 major sectors - Railways, Tourism Cinema.

MOUs worth more than USD 1 billion were signed between business enterprises from both countries during various seminars and meets as part of this mega festival, conducted from 12th - 20th August 2023 in different provinces across Vietnam.

Some of the biggest railway corporations from India - such as Ashoka Buildcon Limited, Efftronics JMV LPS Limited and Railtel Corporation of India - have MOUs with big Railway Infra Companies in Vietnam like the Hoa Binh Group and VIENC Vietnam International Entrepreneurs Networking Corporation during the Railway Cooperation Seminar in the Vietnam Railway Cooperation Seminar. By 2030, Vietnam will build 2000 km of new track for the Trans Vietnam High Speed Rail, with a total investment of over 58 billion dollars. Vietnam Railways is therefore seeking transfer of expertise and technology in various fields, such as modernization, signalling and safety systems, and is seeking collaboration of Indian companies in Vietnam's railway projects. The MOUs were signed for the transfer of technology and expertise of Indian companies for the upgrading of Vietnam Railways.

In the tourism sector, more than 10 MOUs have been signed between visiting Tour Operators from India and some of the leading hotels tour companies in Ho Chi Minh City, Dalat, Phu Yen, Ha Nam Hanoi to promote tourism in both countries. The MOUs were signed in the presence of India's Consul General Dr Madan Mohan Sethi and leaders of various provinces during the India Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Seminars held in different cities across Vietnam.

In another Landmark event to boost cultural relations between India Vietnam, a MOU was signed between the Government of Phu Yen province and the Curator of Namaste Vietnam Festival, Captain Rahul Bali, with regard to Film Cooperation and Collaboration in Filmmaking. The ceremony was held at the stunning Stelia Beach Resort in Phu Yen by the Consul General of India Dr Madan Mohan Sethi, Eminent Filmmakers Actors from India and a number of Vietnamese dignitaries. Internationally acclaimed film makers Rahat Kazmi Tariq Khan announced the first India-Viet Co-Production Film to be shot in Vietnam later this year.

This is a historic moment and I am extremely delighted to say that this is the best take away of the Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023, said the Consul General of India, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi. I am satisfied that this festival has become a effective platform for the delegations from both countries to explore the possibility of doing business and the MOUs signed during the festival bear testimony to the same. It is truly the beginning of a new era of collaboration.
