Bihar Trust Vote: Whips Issued to Ensure NDA Victory

Former Bihar Chief Minister, Jitan Ram Manjhi, of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) announced that the party had issued a whip to its four MLAs instructing them to vote in favor of the NDA government during the upcoming trust vote in Bihar, scheduled for February 12.

The whip was issued amid rumors that the principal opposition party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), might try to poach the party's MLAs. Manjhi asserted that while they may be poor, they were not dishonest and would remain committed to the ruling NDA government.

The Janata Dal-United (JDU) also issued a three-line whip to its MLAs, directing them to be present and vote in favor of the ruling alliance during the trust vote. Subsequently, the MLAs were called to the residence of Bihar minister and JDU leader, Shrawon Kumar, in Patna, to ensure unity and prevent poaching attempts by the RJD.

Meanwhile, the RJD, along with its Mahagathbandhan allies, held a meeting of their MLAs on Saturday evening ahead of the floor test. The leaders were reportedly to stay back at the meeting location. The baggage of the RJD MLAs was seen being brought to the official residence of former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav in Patna.
