Independent Candidates Flock to PML-N After Pakistan Elections

In the aftermath of Pakistan's general elections on February 8, numerous Independent candidates who emerged victorious have pledged allegiance to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Shamsher Ali Mazari, elected as an Independent from NA-189 in Rajanpur, announced his decision to join the PML-N, citing consultations with his associates. Similarly, Muhammad Sohail from PP-240, Khurram Virk from PP-48, and Rana Muhammad Fayyaz from PP-49, all elected as Independent candidates from Punjab Assembly constituencies, have also aligned themselves with the PML-N.

This trend of Independent candidates joining the PML-N is not limited to the Punjab Assembly. On Sunday, Taimoor Lali from PP-94, an Independent candidate, declared his support for the PML-N. Sardar Khizar Khan Mazari, an Independent candidate backed by the PTI who won from PP-297 in Rajanpur, has also pledged his support to the PML-N. Zulfiqar Ali Shah from PP-96 in Chiniot, who successfully contested as an Independent, has joined the PML-N, stating that his decision was motivated by the desire to contribute to the region's welfare and development.
