Union Minister Anurag Thakur Accuses West Bengal Government of Inaction in Sandeshkhali

During a press interaction in Bhota, Union Minister Anurag Thakur lambasted the West Bengal government, particularly targeting the law and order situation in trouble-torn Sandeshkhali, where several women accused a TMC leader and his supporters of land-grab and sexual assault. Thakur criticized the government's inaction, expressing concern for the safety of women and questioning the effectiveness of law enforcement under the leadership of the state's chief minister. In response, fresh protests erupted in Sandeshkhali with locals demonstrating against the delay in the arrest of the accused TMC leader. The political confrontation escalated further as the Bengal police hindered the visit of women leaders from the BJP's Bengal unit to the troubled region. Additionally, earlier in the day, Thakur also highlighted the successful functioning of 'Ek Se Shresth' centers, aimed at providing quality education and holistic development to students in the Badsar assembly constituency. Currently, 74 such centers are operational, enrolling over 1,500 students.
