Alstom, a leading provider of sustainable mobility solutions, has commenced production of advanced Metropolis trainsets for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) Phase IV expansion project. The order, signed in November 2022, encompasses the delivery of 52 six-car train sets.
These trainsets will cater to three different DMRC lines: extensions of the existing Line 7 and Line 8, and the new Gold Line 10 connecting Aerocity to Tughlakabad, covering a total distance of 64.67 km. The production launch was marked by a commemorative ceremony attended by dignitaries from DMRC and Alstom India.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, emphasized the significance of the new metro routes in enhancing connectivity within Delhi. Olivier Loison, Managing Director of Alstom India, expressed their pride in contributing to India's largest metro network and their commitment to sustainable mass mobility solutions.
