Japan Pledges Continued Support for Ukraine's Reconstruction

During the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida emphasized Japan's commitment to support Ukraine's economic development across different industries as an investment in the country's future. He pledged comprehensive assistance and reaffirmed Japan's continued support from emergency recovery to economic reconstruction. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed appreciation for Japan's assistance and invited Kishida for a second visit to Ukraine. More than 50 cooperation documents were signed, encompassing various areas such as land mine disposal, debris removal, agriculture, and digital technologies. Additionally, a new tax treaty was signed to lower taxes on corporations and encourage Japanese investments in Ukraine. JETRO also announced the opening of an office in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, further promoting trade and investment between the two countries.
