Nairobi Governor Appoints Taskforce for Health Sector Reform

Governor Sakaja has appointed a taskforce, chaired by Prof Olive Mugenda, who will assess the healthcare services and facilities in Nairobi over the next 45 days. The team will also scrutinize the supply chain management of medical products and suggest reforms.

The Nairobi Governor, Mr. Sakaja, has appointed a team consisting of Prof Olive Mugenda and six other members to review and propose reforms in the county's healthcare sector. This taskforce, led by Prof Mugenda, has been given a specific timeframe of 45 days to delve into areas such as citizens' access to health services, the condition of public health facilities, and the management of medical supplies.

In an effort to improve the health sector in Nairobi, Governor Johnson Sakaja has formed a seven-member taskforce chaired by Prof Olive Mugenda. Along with other members, the taskforce will evaluate issues like citizen access to quality health services, the status of public health facilities, and medical supply chain management. Furthermore, the team has been mandated to look into health information management, human resource capacity, and propose an efficient health financing model.
