Delhi Solar Policy Obstruction Alleged

Delhi Power Minister Atishi has accused Lt Governor V K Saxena of obstructing the implementation of the AAP government's Solar Policy. Atishi alleges that Saxena's aim is to prevent its notification before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections begin.

Sources in Saxena's office have denied the allegations, accusing the Kejriwal government of habitual lying. They claim that the Lt Governor has sought clarification on certain provisions in the policy, including one that potentially benefits private players.

Atishi has urged Saxena to refrain from delaying the implementation of the policy, which she maintains will reduce pollution. The Delhi Assembly has also passed a censure motion condemning the alleged obstruction.

Aam Aadmi Party's Sandeep Pathak has accused the BJP-led Centre of stalling the policy to hinder the people of Delhi from benefiting from it. According to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the new policy will provide zero electricity bills for domestic consumers and halve tariffs for commercial and industrial consumers upon installation of rooftop solar panels.
