Karnataka Assembly Slogan Row: BJP MLAs Protest, Demand Action

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans outside the Karnataka Assembly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) staged a protest at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday. They demanded immediate action against those responsible for the incident.

The BJP MLAs condemned the state government's inaction in arresting the individuals who raised the pro-Pakistan slogans. They chanted slogans such as "Down with the Congress government that is dividing the nation" and "Arrest the culprits."

In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the government had sent the audio recording of the incident to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and would take appropriate action based on the report. However, he criticized the BJP-led central government for failing to take action against MP Ananth Kumar Hegde's alleged statement on altering the Constitution.

Siddaramaiah reminded the protesters that the Indian National Congress, not the BJP or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), had fought for India's independence. He accused the BJP of disrespecting democracy and the Constitution.

Meanwhile, BJP MP-elect Syed Naseer Hussain denied the allegations that his supporters had raised pro-Pakistan slogans. He claimed that they had been chanting "Naseer Sahab Zindabad, Naseer Khan Zindabad." He stated that he had not heard any such slogans and condemned them if they had been raised.

The BJP MLAs subsequently entered the well of the Assembly as a form of protest and continued to raise slogans.
