Uttarakhand Prepares for Lok Sabha Elections, Emphasizes Law and Order

A high-level meeting was held in Dehradun to discuss preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the law and order situation in Uttarakhand. The meeting was chaired by Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary Home, Uttarakhand Government, and attended by senior police officers.

During the meeting, Deputy Inspector General of Police P Renuka Devi presented a report on law and order issues related to the elections. The report highlighted actions taken by the police, including identifying critical polling stations, assessing police force requirements, and coordinating with border states.

Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar emphasized the commitment of the Uttarakhand Government and Police Department to work together to ensure the safety of the elections and other upcoming events, such as the Maa Purnagiri Fair and Chardham Yatra.

Home Secretary Dilip Jawalkar stressed the importance of adhering to the Model Code of Conduct and ensuring compliance with instructions. He emphasized the role of all departments in conducting the elections safely and urged officers to cooperate and monitor social media for any sensitive posts or fake news related to law and order or the elections.
