Kshatriya Community in Gujarat Protests BJP Candidate Rupala's Remarks, Demands His Withdrawal

## Rupala's Controversial Remarks Spark Protests from Kshatriya Community in Gujarat

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Kshatriya community in Gujarat has erupted in protest against the BJP's decision to field Union Minister Parshottam Rupala from the Rajkot constituency. Their anger stems from Rupala's alleged derogatory remarks against the community, where he reportedly claimed that 'maharajas' readily surrendered to foreign rulers, including the British, and even married their daughters to them.

The community has rejected Rupala's apology, deeming it insufficient, and has demanded his immediate withdrawal as the BJP candidate. They point to the party's swift action against Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks, highlighting the inconsistency in the BJP's approach.

Ramutubha Jadeja, a core committee member of the Kshatriya community, stated that Rupala's comments were an insult to their daughters and sisters. He emphasized that the community will continue their protests until Rupala is removed as the candidate.

Dasrathsinh Sarvaiya, another community leader, declared that Rupala's "days are numbered" and that he should not represent Rajkot as their MP. The community has received support from Kshatriyas in other states, further bolstering their resolve.

The BJP, however, has stood by Rupala, stating that his apology is sufficient and that he will remain the party's candidate. This stance has further intensified the community's agitation, adding urgency to their demand as the Lok Sabha elections draw closer.

With the elections scheduled for May 7th and counting on June 4th, the Kshatriya community remains resolute in their opposition to Rupala's candidacy. This controversy has cast a shadow over the upcoming elections in Gujarat, with the community's demands adding another layer of complexity to the already heated political landscape.
