BJP's Rajeev Bhardwaj Accuses Party of Rampant Corruption

In a scathing attack on the Congress party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President and Chambal Lok Sabha seat candidate Rajeev Bhardwaj labeled the party as the "mother of corruption." Addressing a public meeting in Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh, Bhardwaj accused the Congress of having a long history of corruption and claimed that the BJP's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put a stop to their "looting system."

Bhardwaj further alleged that corruption became synonymous with the Congress government, citing numerous scams worth crores of rupees that occurred before 2014. He criticized the former Congress Prime Minister for admitting that only 15 paise out of every rupee sent from Delhi reached the poor, implying that the rest was siphoned off by the party.

Accusing the Congress of being habitual offenders, Bhardwaj stated that if they were in power, they would have looted 28 lakh crore rupees out of the 34 lakh crore rupees sent directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts by the BJP government in the last ten years. He claimed that since independence, the Congress has viewed itself as having a license to loot the country.

Bhardwaj attributed the Congress' criticism of Modi to their frustration at being unable to continue their alleged "looting" practices. He claimed that the public stands firmly behind Modi, protecting him from the Congress' attacks. He further stated that the anger of scammers and middlemen whose earnings have been stopped is the reason behind the Congress' current state in both the country and Himachal Pradesh.

Expressing confidence in the BJP's prospects in the upcoming elections, Bhardwaj highlighted the enthusiasm of BJP workers as a sign that Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister for the third time. Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats, and polling for these seats, along with six Assembly seats that fell vacant following the disqualification of Congress MLAs, will be held on June 1.
