## TMC Minister Dismisses BJP's Attack Claims, Citing Fear of Defeat and Peaceful Polls

## TMC Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya on BJP's Claims of Attack During Lok Sabha Polls

Amid the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal, TMC Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya addressed the BJP's claims of being attacked during the voting process. She asserted that the BJP's accusations stem from their fear of defeat.

"The BJP has understood that they are losing. Their loss is confirmed because the people of West Bengal know how they have been deprived of their rights. They have understood that they will lose. Those who lose say things like they were attacked before the media. It has been confirmed that our candidates are winning in all three Lok Sabha constituencies (Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and Jalpaiguri)," Bhattacharya stated.

She highlighted the peaceful conduct of the polls and the high voter turnout as evidence of the BJP's false claims. "The polling happened peacefully and the BJP did not like it. They thought that they would engage in fighting and create such an atmosphere that people would not vote. Look at the vote percentage. This will show how voting took place peacefully here," she said.

Bhattacharya further criticized the BJP candidate from Coochbehar, Nisith Pramanik, for alleging hooliganism at a booth in his constituency. She described Pramanik as a "hooligan" himself and pointed to his past actions.

"The BJP is so scared that they know that he (Pramanik) is not going to Parliament this time...Nisith Pramanik has done such things at different times that people have come to understand that he is a hooligan," she remarked.

Bhattacharya also claimed that the BJP's weakness is evident in their inability to field poll agents in three booths in Alipurduar. "The BJP Alipurduar candidate is not even able to give a polling agent in four of their booths. If they are not being able to provide a polling agent, people get to know how weak is their organization. Their supporters are not with them and they do not have enough party workers to organize the Lok Sabha elections. So people are not with them," she concluded.
