Prime Minister Modi to Campaign in Bengaluru and Chikkaballapura for Lok Sabha Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will take him to Bengaluru and Chikkaballapura district as he plans to address sizable rallies in these areas. Previously, Modi has conducted massive gatherings in Kalaburagi and Shivamogga, and recently, on April 14, he spoke at a rally in Mysuru alongside JD(S) veteran H D Deve Gowda before holding a roadshow in Mangaluru. The Prime Minister's upcoming itinerary includes a public meeting in Chokkahalli village in Chikkaballapura district at 2 PM, where he will cover Chikkballapur and Kolar Lok Sabha constituencies. Later in the day at 4 PM, he will engage in a large rally at Bengaluru's palace ground, encompassing Bangalore North, South, Central, and Rural segments.

Bengaluru's constituencies, particularly North, South, and Central, have historically been strongholds for the BJP, whereas Rural is presently represented by Congress' D K Suresh, the brother of Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. The BJP has fielded K Sudhakar as their candidate from Chikkballapur and M Mallesh Babu from the Kolar Lok Sabha segment in alliance with JD(S). Among the candidates are BJP's current MPs Tejasvi Surya and P C Mohan for Bangalore South and Central respectively, along with Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje contesting from Bangalore North. In Bangalore Rural, JD(S)'s alliance partner, Deve Gowda's son-in-law Dr C N Manjunath, a renowned cardiologist, will run on a BJP ticket. Karnataka's election process is split into two phases, with 14 Lok Sabha segments in the southern part of the state voting on April 26, followed by the northern districts casting their votes on May 7.
