AIUDF's Strategy for Assam Lok Sabha Elections

The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has announced its strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam. The party will contest three seats - Dhubri, Nagaon, and Karimganj - and support strong non-BJP candidates in the remaining 11 seats.

AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam stated that the party's primary goal is to defeat the BJP in Assam. They believe that the Congress has betrayed its allies by not giving them enough seats in the alliance. Therefore, AIUDF will support non-Congress candidates in several constituencies.

Darang Udalguri: Durga Das Boro (BPF)

Manoranjan Talukdar (CPM)

Radheshyam Biswas (TMC)

Islam emphasized that AIUDF is not weakening the Congress' fight against the BJP. He pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is allied with the Congress in Delhi, is contesting against the Congress in Assam.

Islam advocated for madrasas in Assam, stating that they are educational institutions that provide religious education alongside secular education. He believes that this will help to reduce violence, drug abuse, and other social problems.

The second phase of polling in Assam will be held on April 26th in five constituencies. The third phase will be held on April 29th in four constituencies. Counting will take place on June 4th.
