UAE-Oman Railway Project Enters Implementation Phase
Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi, CEO of Hafeet Rail, announced that the railway project between Oman and the UAE has officially entered the implementation phase. This significant milestone follows the signing of a partnership agreement and the awarding of major contracts to a joint UAE-Omani alliance.
Al Hashemi emphasized the numerous benefits the project will bring, including enhanced economic and social development. He highlighted the efficiency and sustainability of railways, making them a preferred mode of transportation.
The project is expected to boost cooperation in various sectors, particularly tourism, by facilitating passenger movement between the two countries. The railway line will extend from the existing UAE network in Al Wathba to the city and port of Sohar, traversing diverse landscapes and running alongside Jebel Hafeet, the inspiration for the company's name.
The joint UAE-Omani Business Forum also witnessed the unveiling of Hafeet Rail's new brand identity, replacing the previous name "Oman and Etihad Rail Company.
