Russe Students Triumph in Bulgarian Spelling Bee Competition

Anton Markov, a sixth-grader from Russe, emerged victorious in the Bulgarian Spelling Bee competition. He faced off against Sava Troanski, a fourth-grader from Pazardzhik, in the final round.

In the younger age group, Ekaterina Basheva, also from Russe, claimed the top spot. She defeated Georgi Avramov from Varna in the final round.

Anton's secret to success? Spelling with his eyes closed! This unique technique helped him conquer the unfamiliar words list and secure the championship title.

Ekaterina, a passionate programmer, participated in the national Spelling Bee final for the second time. Her winning word was "discipline."

The Spelling Bee competition has been a fixture in Bulgaria for 14 years. It is organized by CORPluS - Corps for Education and Development, in collaboration with the America for Bulgaria Foundation and with the support of the US Embassy in Bulgaria.
