This initiative is part of JioCinema's strategy to compete with major players in the industry, such as Netflix and Amazon, following agreements with Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, and NBCUniversal to enhance its content offerings.

Chief Executive Officer of Viacom18’s digital division, Kiran Mani, highlighted that the revamped JioCinema subscription plans include a variety of benefits like live programming at reduced prices, offering online and offline viewing in 4K quality on any device, and streaming content in multiple languages. Additionally, JioCinema is providing access to local programming with advertisements, a feature that sets it apart from competitors like Netflix and Amazon, which offer ad-free services but at higher costs. Mani emphasized the company's commitment to making JioCinema a daily viewing habit for Indian families by ensuring affordability and accessibility.
