A Glimpse into the Future
The Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo exhibition, also known as SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, is currently underway at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo. This exciting event showcases cutting-edge technologies that could become commonplace by 2050.
Visitors can experience the future firsthand through interactive exhibits like walking robots controlled by children and simulated "flying car" rides powered by virtual reality. The exhibition runs until May 26th, with additional displays opening in May at three other bayside locations, including the Ariake Arena.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, a sponsor of the event, hopes to find solutions to pressing issues like urban traffic congestion and global warming through technological innovation. Alongside showcasing these advancements, SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 encourages collaboration and investment in companies working on solutions for social infrastructure and environmental protection.
With approximately 120 exhibits on display, organizers anticipate welcoming 500,000 visitors. Sora Kido, a high school student from western Tokyo who attended the exhibition, expressed her enthusiasm for the potential of flying cars to alleviate traffic congestion and expedite travel.
Most exhibits are free of charge, making this a fantastic opportunity to explore the future of technology and its potential impact on our lives.
