BJP President Nadda Accuses Mamata of Intimidation Tactics, Pledges Support for Sandeshkhali Victims

BJP President Nadda Attacks Mamata Banerjee Over Sandeshkhali Incident

In a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP President J.P. Nadda questioned her tactics of "scaring and threatening people" to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This statement comes in the wake of the CBI seizing arms and ammunition linked to former Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh, who is accused of sexual assault and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali.

Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP's victory, claiming they will win over 35 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state. He also extended his party's solidarity with the Sandeshkhali women who were allegedly victimized by Sheikh.

The BJP has further demonstrated its support for women empowerment by fielding a Sandeshkhali victim as one of its Lok Sabha candidates, according to Nadda. He emphasized that the victims are not alone and the entire country stands with them.

Banerjee, however, has refuted the claims of arms recovery and alleged that the CBI conducted searches without informing the state police. She expressed skepticism about the operation, suggesting that the recovered items might have been planted by the central agency officials.

The BJP, which won 18 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal in the 2019 elections, is aiming to significantly improve its tally in the upcoming polls. This incident has further intensified the political battle between the BJP and the TMC in the state.
