JJP's Former Haryana President Nishan Singh Joins Congress

The political landscape in Haryana witnessed a significant development as Nishan Singh, the former Haryana President of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), made a notable shift by joining the Congress party. Alongside him, a substantial number of office-bearers and senior figures from the JJP also transitioned to the Congress ranks. This move was hailed by Deepender Singh Hooda, a prominent leader within the Congress, who emphasized the growth of the party's family through these new additions, suggesting a strengthening of the Congress's position in Haryana.

The Congress party's strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Haryana became clearer with the release of a candidate list on April 26. The party announced its lineup, with candidates like Kumari Selja fielded from Sirsa and Deepender Singh Hooda from Rohtak. Other contenders, including Mahendra Pratap from Faridabad and Varun Choudhary from Ambala, were also revealed, showcasing the party's preparedness for the electoral battle ahead. Additionally, names like Jai Prakash, Divyanshu Budhiraja, Satpal Brahmachari, and Rao Dan Singh were put forth by the Congress to contest from various constituencies, aiming to secure a strong representation in the Lok Sabha.

Reflecting on the past election results in Haryana, the BJP emerged as the dominant force in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, sweeping all 10 seats in the state. In contrast, the Congress faced a challenging outcome, securing only one seat in that election. Looking back at the 2014 elections, the BJP had won 7 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress had lesser representation. As the political stage sets for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 25 for the 10 parliamentary constituencies of Haryana, the Congress seems determined to make a significant impact and potentially alter the current electoral dynamics in the state.
