Jammu and Kashmir BJP Expels Senior Leader Satish Bhargav for Hate Speech

The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled senior leader Satish Bhargav from the party and its primary membership for six years. This action was taken in response to a video circulating in the media where Bhargav was seen making hate speeches and using unparliamentary language during an election meeting in the Mendhar area of Poonch district.

Following the incident, Sunil Sethi, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Jammu and Kashmir, recommended action against Bhargav to Ravinder Raina, President of Jammu and Kashmir BJP. In his letter, Sethi stated that Bhargav's behavior was "highly deplorable" and constituted "gross indiscipline" that could not be tolerated in a disciplined party like the BJP. He further recommended Bhargav's immediate expulsion from the party for six years, citing the video recording of his conduct as sufficient evidence.

Based on Sethi's recommendation, Ravinder Raina, President of Jammu and Kashmir BJP, issued a statement confirming Bhargav's expulsion from the party and its primary membership for six years. The statement cited Bhargav's "gross indiscipline" and his use of "unparliamentary language and hate speech" as the reasons for his expulsion.
