Congress Remarks on Poonch Attack Draw Condemnation, Apology Demanded

BJP Leader Condemns Congress Member's Remarks on Poonch Attack

Sunil Jakhar, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, has strongly condemned the remarks made by Congress Working Committee member Charanjit Singh Channi regarding the recent terror attack in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.

Jakhar described Channi's statement as "ghastly" and "shameful," accusing him of belittling the bravery of Indian soldiers and insulting the nation. He further stated that Channi's remarks, which alleged the attack was "pre-planned" and a "stunt" to help the BJP win elections, displayed "bankruptcy and frustration."

Jakhar demanded that the Congress and its allies clarify their stance on the issue and publicly disassociate themselves from Channi's statement. He also urged Channi to apologize to the nation immediately.

Union Minister Demands Apology from Congress Leadership

Union Minister Anurag Thakur joined the chorus of condemnation, demanding an apology from the top leadership of the Congress, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He questioned whether the Congress considered the wars of 1962, 1965, and 1971 as mere "stunts" to win elections.

Thakur criticized the Congress for questioning the capabilities of the Indian armed forces and accused them of stooping to a new low by insulting the bravery of soldiers for political gains. He also questioned Rahul Gandhi's meeting with Chinese diplomats during the Doklam standoff and demanded an explanation for his actions.
