A Glimpse into the Future

The Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo exhibition, also known as SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, is currently underway at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo. This exciting event showcases advanced technologies that could become commonplace by 2050.

Visitors can experience the future firsthand through interactive exhibits like walking robots controlled by children and simulated "flying car" rides powered by virtual reality. The exhibition runs until May 26th and expands to three additional venues in the bayside area, including the Ariake Arena, opening in May.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, a sponsor of the exhibition, seeks solutions to pressing issues like urban traffic congestion and global warming. Alongside showcasing technological innovations, SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 encourages collaboration and investment in companies focused on social infrastructure and environmental protection.

With approximately 120 exhibits on display, organizers anticipate 500,000 visitors. Sora Kido, a high school student who visited the exhibition, expressed enthusiasm for the potential of flying cars to alleviate traffic congestion.

Most exhibits are free of charge, offering an accessible glimpse into the future of technology and its potential to address critical challenges.
