Sofia's National Palace of Culture Undergoes Cleaning
Sofia's iconic National Palace of Culture is undergoing a cleaning process, aiming to restore its original Vratsa stone facade. Mayor Vasil Terziev announced the initiative on Facebook, highlighting the importance of addressing residents' concerns about graffiti, poor lighting, and damaged infrastructure.
Terziev emphasized the need to improve the city's appearance, stating that Sofia deserves better than a "ghetto with scratched facades." He reiterated his pre-election commitment to making Sofia a clean, orderly, and green city, emphasizing that progress continues despite ongoing political debates.
The cleaning project focuses on removing layers of paint applied over the years to cover graffiti and pollution. This restoration aims to showcase the natural beauty of the Vratsa stone, a distinctive feature of the National Palace of Culture.
