Voters in Sirsa, Haryana Brave Heatwave to Cast Votes in Lok Sabha Elections

Braving scorching temperatures in Sirsa, Haryana, voters defied the heatwave to perform their civic duty by voting in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Despite the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reporting severe heatwave conditions in the district, with the mercury touching 45 degrees Celsius, the voters were undeterred in their determination to cast their ballots.

Speaking to news agency ANI, voters shared their commitment to contributing to the nation's development by participating in the electoral process. From donning sunglasses, caps, scarves, to carrying water bottles for protection against the heat, voters made sure to make their way to the polling booths. Sunil Sethi, one of the voters, emphasized the importance of choosing the right candidate and making a difference through the power of the vote, even in challenging weather conditions.

Despite facing obstacles like work commitments or the intense heat, voters like Ankur Sethi and others expressed their belief in the significance of voting for the betterment of the country. The dedication of the voters was evident in the voter turnout of 58.56% recorded in Haryana until 8.30 pm during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, showcasing their unwavering commitment to the democratic process even in adverse conditions.
