Shivakumar Accuses BJP and JDS of Corruption, Defends Siddaramaiah, and Challenges Opposition

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's Speech at Janandolana Event

Shivakumar accused both BJP and JDS of being deeply involved in corruption, calling them the "father, mother, brother, sister and relative of corruption."

He challenged Kumaraswamy to answer questions about his alleged involvement in the pen drive case and his family's assets.

He also questioned the BJP's silence on Kumaraswamy's allegations against former BJP MLA Preetham Gowda.

Shivakumar defended Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife's land acquisition, stating that she was seeking fair compensation for land encroached upon by the Muda.

He clarified that Siddaramaiah had not signed any papers related to the land allocation and that the BJP government was responsible for the mistake and subsequent compensation.

Shivakumar criticized the BJP and JDS for their hypocrisy in demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation while ignoring their own involvement in the PSI scam.

He accused them of trying to destabilize the government and claimed that their efforts would be futile.

He also criticized the BJP for misusing agencies to file cases against opposition leaders and for failing to address issues like Cauvery water sharing, Mekedatu project, youth employment, and farmers' welfare.

Shivakumar challenged Kumaraswamy to fulfill his promise of creating 10,000 jobs in Mandya and establishing industries in Hassan.

He offered the support of the Congress government in these endeavors.

Shivakumar highlighted his government's commitment to addressing the needs of the people, citing the "Government at your doorstep" program in Channapatna, where 22,000 pleas were received and efforts are underway to allot sites to the people.

Overall, Shivakumar's speech aimed to defend his government's record, attack the opposition, and reassure the people of Karnataka about the Congress's commitment to their welfare.
