Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Questions Union Minister's Wealth, Assets

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar raised questions about Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy's family's wealth and assets during a public event in Channapatna. Shivakumar challenged Kumaraswamy to explain how his family acquired extensive land and wealth, insinuating that merely farming potatoes and onions couldn't have generated such wealth. He also pressed Kumaraswamy to disclose information about benami land owned by his brother's family in Mysuru and Srirangapatna, questioning how a government employee could amass thousands of crores in wealth.

Shivakumar further stated his intention to expose a list of Kumaraswamy's family assets and alleged scams, claiming ownership of lands in various locations such as Bidadi, Kumbalgod, Gubbi, Chikkagubbi, Yelahanka, Hassan, and Nelamangala. Accusing Kumaraswamy of undermining the JD(S) for power, Shivakumar criticized the Union Minister for allegedly joining forces with the BJP to protect his political standing, labeling him as a blackmailer and someone adept at hit-and-run tactics. He also highlighted discrepancies during Kumaraswamy's tenure as an MLA, suggesting a lack of governance based on grievances received during a redressal program.
