AIFF Announces Plans to Elevate I-League with Enhanced Broadcast and Infrastructure Focus

In a significant move to elevate the upcoming I-League season, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has outlined a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the league's broadcast quality, infrastructure, and overall profile.

During a recent meeting with I-League club representatives, AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey announced plans to provide high-definition broadcast production with up to 8 cameras for clubs that meet minimum infrastructure requirements. These requirements include international-standard pitch quality and 1800 lux floodlights.

Venues meeting these standards will be allocated primetime broadcast slots and designated as marquee events for marketing purposes. For venues unable to meet the requirements this season, a minimum of two to six camera kits will be allocated based on available infrastructure.

Furthermore, AIFF has formed task force groups with representatives from I-League clubs to focus on marketing and promotion, broadcast, fixture, and refereeing aspects of the league. These groups will collaborate and propose strategies to improve these areas.

In terms of fixtures, AIFF plans to present a best-scenario schedule for the 2023-24 season, considering geographical mapping and travel optimization to reduce costs and time for clubs.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2024, to review reports and suggestions and determine the next course of action.

These initiatives demonstrate AIFF's commitment to elevate the I-League and provide a platform for showcasing the talent and passion of Indian football. The focus on infrastructure, broadcast quality, and strategic planning aims to create a more professional and engaging league experience for players, fans, and stakeholders.
