
Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson Honors Legacy of Farmer Leader C Narayanasamy Naidu
On the occasion of farmer leader C Narayanasamy Naidu's centenary, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson A N S Prasad urged Chief Minister M K Stalin to go beyond "ceremonial gestures" and organize a year-long celebration in honor of the leader.
Prasad highlighted Naidu's significant contributions to farmers' rights and his dedication to their welfare. He emphasized the importance of recognizing Naidu's legacy and inspiring future generations to follow in his footsteps.
The Tamil Nadu government has decided to name the Kurudampalayam NGO Colony railway bridge after Naidu, and a centenary arch will be built in his native place, Vaiyampalayam in Coimbatore Dist.
Prasad also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in empowering farmers through innovative initiatives and policies. He stated that Modi has followed the ideals of Naidu and brought about a "renaissance in the lives of farmers."
The BJP spokesperson further suggested organizing statewide seminars, conferences, and competitions to promote Narayanasamy Naidu's history and principles. He also proposed a grand farmers' rally and conference to conclude the centenary year.
C Narayanasamy Naidu, also known as Ayya Narayanaswamy Naidu and 'Uzhavar Perunthalaivar,' was born on February 6, 1925, in Sengalipalayam, Coimbatore. He led various protests for farmers' issues in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly on the power tariff increase issue.
The BJP's call for a year-long celebration and active promotion of Naidu's legacy highlights the importance of recognizing and honoring the contributions of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of farmers and rural communities.
