The Punjab government has launched a new campaign, 'Yudh Nashian Virudh', to combat drug smuggling by focusing on precision strikes against major suppliers. Since the campaign's launch, over 3,957 drug smugglers have been arrested, and significant quantities of contraband, including 137.7 kg of heroin, have been recovered.

The Odisha legislative assembly witnessed the suspension of 12 Congress MLAs for protesting inside the well, leading to protests by Youth Congress workers and senior leaders who were denied entry to meet the suspended MLAs.
