The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new brownfield ammonia-urea plant in Namrup, Assam, with an estimated cost of Rs 10,601 crore. The plant is expected to be commissioned within 48 months and will produce 12.7 lakh metric tonnes of urea annually, boosting domestic production and meeting the growing demand in the region.
