The U.S. dollar was mixed on foreign exchange markets. The euro was still weak at 1.0136, but it didn't change much at all. The British pound was trading in a tight range around 1.2056. The Japanese yen was weakened a bit to 136.90. The Swiss franc was down to 0.9618.
The Canadian dollar rose to 1.2854. The Australian and New Zealand dollars were just 0.6939 and 0.6232, respectively.
The Nasdaq Composite fell by 220.09 points or 1.87 percent over the night on Wall Street. 56.
