The much-hyped Chelsea Football Club's sale to the Todd Boehly group may be completed by Monday. According to the football club's statement, it received the sale approval from the Premier League and the British government this week.
The British government approved a $5.3 billion deal, which brings a close to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's 20 year football club ownership.
The club said last night that a final and definitive agreement was entered into to sell the club to the Todd Boehly Clearlake Capital consortium.
Abramovich said in a separate statement that Chelsea ownership comes with great responsibility and his goal is to make sure that the next owner can achieve success for both the men and women's teams.
WhaleFin will be the Chelsea FC sleeve partner starting in the 2022 season. The exchange offers a wide variety of digital currencies, including Bitcoin BTCUSD and Ethereum ETHUSD.
The WhaleFin logo will be put on Chelsea FC players kits, which features a blue whale. The logo will replace Hyundai Motor Co. HYMTF's logo for four years. The club is planning to change its main shirt sponsor, Three, a British telecom company.
The club's chief executive officer, Guy Laurence, said this is a hugely exciting partnership, which aligns with one of the world's most advanced digital asset companies.
