Chinese Premier Li Keqiang congratulates Albanese on his appointment as Australian PM

PHOTO XINHUA BEIJING Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday sent a congratulatory message to Anthony Albanese on his assumption as prime minister of the federal government of Australia.

In his message, Li said that the sound and stable development of China-Australia relations conforms to the fundamental interests and common aspirations of their people and is also conducive to peace, stability, development and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the 1970s, the Australian Labor Party made the right decision in establishing diplomatic ties with China, making important contributions to the development of bilateral relations, Li added.

As the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Australia diplomatic relations this year, Li stated that the Chinese side is ready to work with the Australian side to review the past, uphold mutual respect and mutual benefit, and promote the sound and steady growth of their comprehensive strategic partnership.
