REDMOND, Wash. Your next cup of coffee is going to cost you.
Andrea Parrish, owner of Victor's Celtic Caf, said we are not making any money on drip coffees anymore because the cost of coffee has gone up so much.
Coffee prices haven't gone up since 2012. Parrish is trying to manage the increasing costs.
In the last two weeks, prices have gone up 6%, Parrish said. Everyone is taking a hit. Frank Curtiss and his wife come to Victor's once a week. They noticed that their coffee is more expensive.
Curtiss said that if it keeps going at some kind of rate like this, it would have to factor in for us.
More people are making their own coffee to save money because of the costs going up.
Caff Lusso Owner Philip Meech said they are buying a really nice machine and buying a really good roasted coffee and brewing at home.
The customers aren't the only ones feeling the heat. Coffee is getting more expensive for roasters.
Our monthly average of cost could go up six to eight thousand dollars with where prices are going right now, Meech said.
The roasters are trying not to pass costs onto their customers. Parrish told FOX Business that Victor s is changing things up to bring in more revenue.
Parrish said that they were Merchandising.
