20 Aug - The annual economic symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will take place as planned on Aug 27 -- not in person yet, the clearest signal yet of the central bank's increased worries about the impact of COVID - 19 Delta variant.

While we are disappointed that health conditions will prevent us from getting able to gather in person at Teton County meeting this year as we planned, the safety of our guests and the Jackson Lake Lodge community is our priority, said Kansas City Fed President Esther George in a statement.

The Fed announced on Thursday that Fed Chair Jerome Powell would not be attending in person and would give his speech on the economic outlook remotely, but several regional bank presidents had still planned to attend by Friday morning.
