Jet Airways to conduct proving flights on May 15 and 17 May

On May 15 and May 17 there will be proving flights by Jet Airways. The airline has a certificate from the aviation regulator that is the last step for the airline to get the AOC.

If successful, this could lead to an Air Operator Certificate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation DGCA Proving flights are similar to commercial flights but with officials of the DGCA, executives and flight crew of the carrier concerned on board. On May 5, Jet Airways conducted its test flight from Hyderabad to and from Hyderabad in a bid to obtain the AOC.

The airline in its old avatar was owned by Naresh Goyal and had its last flight on April 17, 2019. The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium is currently the promoter of Jet Airways.

In the July-September quarter, the airline plans to restart commercial flight operations.

The proving flights of the airline, using its Boeing 737 aircraft, are scheduled to take place on 15 May and 17 May, according to DGCA officials.
