Number of visas issued in Bosnia and Herzegovina fell by 96% in 2020

The number of issued visas in the last year was 1857 compared to the previous year when 47.694 visas were issued, a drop of more than 96%, according to the data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina BiH.

Since 2010 a constant growing trend is evident in the data on the number of visas issued in the diplomatic and consular missions of BiH.

In the year 2019 there was a significant increase in the number of visas issued by 53% compared to 2018 In 2020, there was a drastic drop in the number of issued visas caused by the Covid 19 virus and the fact that in 2020, the legal basis for entering BiH changed several times due to the new situation caused by the pandemic.

In the period March-September 2020, a decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH was in force on the temporary suspension of issuing visas in diplomatic and consular missions of BiH.
