A ride-hailing firm, Ola's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, might finally have a answer to a question that was raised by riders: Why do drivers cancel their Ola ride?
Aggarwal also announced that Ola has introduced two important features for its drivers' app. We are taking steps to fix this industry wide issue. Ola drivers will be able to see approx drop location payment mode before accepting a ride. He said that he believes that having drivers is the key to reducing cancellations.
Once a ride is booked, Ola drivers will be able to see the customer's approximate drop location and the mode of payment chosen by the rider before they accept the ride. The driver is unwilling to go to the drop location or the payment mode is not preferred by the driver, which is why most ride cancellations are caused by the fact that cash, card or UPI is not preferred by the customer.
With the new features added to Ola drivers' app, Aggarwal hopes that the industry-wide issue of ride cancellation will be reduced.
Ola, which has been awaiting the deliveries of its much-awaited S 1 and S 1 Pro electric scooters in India, recently raised $500 million via a term loan B TLB from marquee international institutional investors. The proposed loan issuance received a huge response from investors with interest and commitment of approximately 1.5 billion dollars.
