Over 4.80 lakh vacancies were available on the National Career Service NCS job portal and that candidates looking for employment can be found on the site, according to the Centre on Tuesday. The NCS is a job platform that provides a variety of employment services that help qualified job seekers connect with potential employers. The portal was launched in July 2015.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has a record number of active vacancies on the job portal, reaching an all-time high of 4,82, 264 spanning different sectors, indicating a boost to employment in the country. The previous high active vacancies were 3,20, 917 which were recorded in June 2019.
The ministry said that Financial Year 2022 -- 23 has also seen a surge in the number of shortlisted candidates on the portal. The number of candidates who have been shortlisted between April 2021 and September 2021 was 1,90, 335, while this number in the same period in the current year has already crossed the mark of 25 lakhs.
The Union minister Bhupender Yadav said that 4,80, 000 active vacancies and career opportunities are available with NCSIndia. The NCS now has API-based integration with eShram that allows unorganized workers to register on the portal as jobseekers, and UDYAM portal for the registration of MSMEs on the portal to post their vacancies. The portal has integration with the Skill India Portal SIP for the registration of certified skilled candidates of SIP as jobseekers on the NCS.
