Pakistan army soldier killed in fight against terrorists

Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said on Friday that a 26-year-old Pakistan army soldier, Sarfaraz Ali, was killed in a military check post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district of KP Bannu.

The check-post in Jani Khel town was attacked on January 13 -- 14 night by terrorists who opened fire on the army troops.

The military media wing said that the army troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists.

The security forces had conducted separate intelligence-based operations IBOs on the presence of terrorists in Tank, the Dera Ismail Khan DI Khan and village Kot Kili in South Waziristan district, reported ARY News.

In the incident, two terrorists had been killed, three were apprehended and one terrorist surrendered to security forces in the operations, the military's media wing said.
