Poland tightens entry rules for Russians

Several dozen Russians were not allowed to enter the country because Poland tightened restrictions on entry of Russian nationals into the country for business or pleasure purposes, a Border Guard spokeswoman told PAP.

Between Monday and Thursday, 54 Russians were refused entry into the country, according to Lt. Anna Michalska.

Russians have been allowed into Poland only in exceptional circumstances over the past two years. The restrictions against Russian nationals were stiffened as of Monday.

The Russian Federation has a separate provision that limits entry of citizens of the Russian Federation at all EU external border crossings. It also reduces the scope of exceptions in order to exclude travel for business, tourist, cultural and sports purposes.
