StarHub customers complain about quality of Premier League streaming

SINGAPORE - StarHub customers reported problems watching the Premier League broadcast on the season's opening weekend, with many complaining about the quality of the service.

Angry football fans took to social media to vent their frustrations, noting issues such as broadcast lags, freezes on their screens and poor quality video and audio.

Some users said they were unable to log on to the StarHub TV app.

StarHub has the rights to broadcast the English Premier League in Singapore. Broadcast rights were previously held by rival telco Singtel for 12 straight years.

"What a catastrophic start to the Premier League" was made by StarHub, according to Twitter user Archit singh. It's already 45 minutes and you're not able to watch a single minute of football. Another football fan tweeted: Felt like a pirated stream with black screen twice in the 2nd half of Fulham Liverpool. A number of people have said they had difficulty reaching a representative for help on StarHub's Facebook page. Can't watch with no info, called the hotline, on hold forever, said a Facebook user.
