U.S. will focus on strengthening ties with Asian allies

Despite North Korea's recent barrage of missile tests, the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden will continue to focus on deterrence and stronger ties with Asian allies, a senior White House official said.

Kurt Campbell, White House Indo-Pacific Coordinator, told reporters on Tuesday that the U.S. is always looking at our assumptions about North Korea but believes that the course we have been on has been effective and prudent.

Campbell said on the sidelines of the Trans-Pacific Dialogue conference in Virginia hosted by South Korea's Chey Institute, it is uneniable that North Korea is one of the most challenging issues on the global stage. Our best approach is to make sure that we are in lockstep with our allies and partners and we are going to continue with that.
