Volvo Cars recalled over software issue

The brake control module has been recalled due to a possible issue with software. A reduction in brake support functions due to a diagnostic error may increase the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Volvo Cars spokesman said that versions of XC 40, C 40, S 60, V 60, V 60 Cross Country, XC 60, S 90, V 90, V 90 Cross Country and XC 90 models are included in the model year 2023.

The Swedish car company told FOX Business l it had already started to contact the owners of the affected cars.

The drivers are asked to book an appointment to have a software update installed as soon as possible. The spokesperson said the risk of this issue occurring is low and there are no reports of related accidents or personal injuries.
