Public in Tokyo enjoy in Inui Street on Imperial Palace grounds

Visitors stroll along Inui Street on the Imperial Palace grounds on March 25 to view the cherry blossoms. Sayuri Ide A line had already formed outside Imperial Palace grounds before 9 a.m. March 25 to allow visitors to view majestic cherry blossom trees despite steady rain and windy conditions.

The Inui Street that runs north to south through the palace grounds has an abundance of trees.

The street has been off-limits to the public for the past three years due to the novel coronaviruses.

Kiyoko Hirose, 78, of Kawasaki, came to the south of Tokyo, and enjoyed the special atmosphere of the Imperial Palace as well as the different varieties of cherry blossoms.

Among the varieties lining the 600 meter stretch of Inui Street are the quintessential Somei-Yoshino and weeping cherry trees.

The street will be open to the public until April 2.
